No..that is incorrect..I know its 11.7 scholarships for up to 27 counters with a minimum of 25%. Most schools have only about 20-21 players under athletic scholorship. Max roster is 35.

Baseball recruiting is tough to judge since a lot of signees go pro and never step foot on campus. USC has signed 2 great players from Atlanta but both will be high picks and probably will sign. We should rate them after the draft deadline.

Here's a kid from Memphis coming to the 'Ville. He's a junior now in HS so if I'm not confused he will be in the '09 class:

Red Devil baseball star commits to Louisville
For Germantown junior infielder Jason Thompson, now was as good a time as any to go ahead and commit to Dan McDonnell's Louisville baseball team.
"It really takes a lot of weight off your shoulders, committing so early," said Thompson, a switch-hitting second baseman who batted .420 as a sophomore at Germantown last season.
"But I went on plenty of (unofficial) visits and thought about it long and hard, and I kept coming back to Louisville being the best fit for me."
Thompson, who credited his summer coach, Tim Dulin, and Red Devil coach Joey Nesbit for helping him draw so much early college attention, also had offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
The younger brother of former Germantown High volleyball star Lauren Thompson (University of Memphis), Jason was also drawing interest from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Michigan, North Carolina, Vanderbilt and the UofM.
"The big thing with him is he just brings so many weapons," Dulin said.
"He's a switch hitter that hits with some power from both sides of the plate and has the ability to steal bases. Defensively, he can play shortstop or the second-base position."
Added Nesbit, who has started Thompson at second base since his freshman season: "Coach McDonnell is what sold him on (Louisville). He was at Ole Miss (as an assistant) when they were recruiting a bunch of kids from Germantown a couple of years ago, and he was really after Jason."

Kash Kalkowski, the gem of Nebraska's 09 recruiting class singlehandedly took a mediocre Grand Island team to a class A championship. Finished the year batting like .550 or something ridiculous like that, an ERA around 1. They're saying they haven't seen a fastball with movement like his since this guy named joba .. something... oh yeah chamberlain. lol.

Maybe Kalkowski is the next Johnny Dorn. After all, they are from the same town.
