I'm a female (forty-something) and usually follow the Big 12 and Missouri Valley, but for the next four years at least, it will be strictly the Shockers for me. My nephew is part of the bullpen. He's just a freshman so he probably won't play a WHOLE lot this year, but we're following the games all the way (and he did have a very promising debut!). I've been looking for a forum that discusses the Shox and this is the closest I've found so far. I am not so prejudiced that I can't be open-minded either, so if Justin has a bad day and someone on here dumps on him, I'm not going to go ballistic. At least I don't think I will. Is your nephew Justin Kemp? He was awesome the other day and he is from Southeast Kansas, a little farther South and East than me, so you won't find me dumping on him. Looking forward to him getting some more innings after his very impressive debut v Harvard. Nice to see some ladies on the board that are such big college baseball fans. I have turned my wife into a big College Baseball fan over the years and she loves going around watching the Shockers play, she allows me to work quite a few of our vacations into seeing the Shockers play. In fact this year we are going to Sea World in San Antonio and we worked it so we will see the Shox play OU in Norman on the way down.

Thanks for the welcome, shockers02. With March Madness looming, I'm not sure how often I'll be able to post in the coming days, but I'm up for trying.

Yes, sekshocker, Justin's mom is my older sister. He is such an all-around great kid and we're super excited about the Shox this year. They seem to all get along really well and it shows on the field. Thanks for the words of encouragement and support. We live in the hometown of Justin's mom and dad and there are several grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins here within an hour of Wichita so we're trying to get to as many home games as we can. Cheer extra loud for us on the road, please.

Hi Shoxaunt, I follow the Jayhawks. The Wichita State game in Lawrence is always one of the highlights of the year for KU baseball. Since both schools have make-up games to schedule now I am a bit hopeful they will play four games instead of two this year. It's a great rivalry. Anyway, if you would like to come to the game in Lawrence just send me a note a few days before and I'll make sure you have a good ticket waiting for you. The game has sold out in the past so it is best not to wait until game day for this one contest.

JQ,
What a nice offer! I'll keep it in mind. Meanwhile, I'm still a Jayhawk fan when it comes to basketball and now, even football. The road to the final four is such a crapshoot that I'm scared to pick the 'Hawks to go that far, but I'm also scared not to.

Whew! That was a close one. Justin was up in the bullpen warming up in the eighth when Grant looked liked he was in trouble. Luckily, Grant was able to finish it out. Not to sound selfish or anything, but I was stuck at home listening on the radio and I would really, really prefer to be there in person when Justin pitches. I know my voice will carry better. lol. Besides, Grant is Justin's suite-mate in the dorms and I know he was pulling for him as much as I was. Perhaps we'll get to see him pitch tomorrow or Sunday. We're sure going to be there, regardless. Way to go Shox! 9-0 at home; 9-3 overall.

Hi, my name's Tom and I just hit the big 5-0. I'm married to Shoxaunt17, for the record. I listened to the Super Regional last year on the radio when they played UC-Irvine and was sure the Shox would win. Needless to say, I was disappointed when they didn't go on. Now with my nephew (freshman pitcher/catcher) on the team, there is an added incentive for me that they do well. But, putting that aside, I believe that this is one of the best, if not THE best, defensive teams the Shockers have had in a while and I say this without bias. If anyone disagrees, tell me why.

My name is Justin and I am currently attending the University of Arkansas. I have been going to 25+ hog games a year for as long as I could drive. I actually schedule my Spring classes so I can go to the afternoon games. Wooo Pig Sooie! My cousin was also an All American at Missouri State a couple years ago so I follow the Bears as well. (Shocker fans don't hate me because of my name )

Plan on doing that again next season. ;D I been d**n if I miss a home game. It is killing me not being at them this year.

I figured, I wanted to be there, and the students can find me there just as easy as in my office. Besides, it is good to get them down to the park anyway. I'll probably do it again a few times this year.

Well, I have been kind of swamped lately so haven't had much time to check things out over here. Boy this place is booming now!
Anyway, I'm Kevin. I live in the greatest city in the universe, none other than the Omaha, Nebraska. I am a huge Creighton fan. I am obsessed with college baseball. I go to school at Marquette in Milwaukee, and my friends make fun of me for liking college baseball. So I basically told them to come to the CWS with me this summer before they talk.
I am famous. I was on the front page of the Omaha World Herald last year for being the first person in the general admission line at the College World Series last year (3rd year in a row actually). I got there at 5:30 am for the 1 pm game. Yeah, I am crazy. Funny thing was some other guy showed up literally 2 minutes after us, so I was literally one breakfast run away from being second.
Other than that, all I can think of is that Marquette does not have a baseball team and it absolutely kills me. It also doesn't help that Creighton does not have any games on the radio until conference season and the live stats never work for Jays games. Oh well, I guess thats what we call ts...tough stuff.
Go Jays!
