Since a few conferences play Thursday-Saturday this last weekend, I figured we should start the weekend thread today.
UK plays 3 games at Georgia that are going to determine the fate of the team for both the SEC Tournament and NCAA at-large.
It is going to be stressful

3-22 SEC record Georgia is laying it on Kentucky 8-1 in the 6th inning.
As I said last weekend...Nothing this weekend would surprise me...And this doesn't.
Henderson...being the genius that you all know I think he is...Changed the weekend rotation order after the last 2 weeks because going 5-1 against South Carolina and LSU means we need a change!
Pathetic...Why did he mess with something that worked?? Tomorrow and Saturday are now must wins.

Ole Miss' reliable closer gave up a three run shot in the eighth to lose to Auburn 5-3. The Rebels hitting woes continued with hitting into five double plays and failing to get runners home from third every time. Their only runs came on a three run shot.
If Mike Bianco doesn't bring in a hitting coach, he deserves the crap that he is getting and will get once the season is over. We're pitiful at the plate.

Louisville went into the ninth inning down 2-3 at Notre Dame last night. JJ Ethel, pinch hitting the nine hole, sent a 3 run blast over the left center wall to put the Cards up 5-3. Jeff Arnold added an insurance solo shot at the next at bat to give the Cards the 6-3 final.
UCONN and Pitt both won so nothing changed in the BE standings.

UK lost 8-6 last night.
We now need to win tonight, then have Miss State beat LSU and Tennessee beat ALabama to control our own destiny on Saturday...
That loss last night really took everything out of our hands.

You can officially declare the UK baseball season dead. Down 20-0 in the 9th to last place Georgia...Being the only team in the SEC to lose a series to Georgia...Officially eliminated from the SEC Tourney as soon as LSU finishes off their thumping of Miss State tonight.
What a season of underachievement for this team...Terrible...I can't say I've enjoyed it outside of the last two weeks.

Ole Miss has packed it in for the year, losing to Auburn tonight 18-4. This teams looks to me like it's not interested. I'd be stunned if we win another game.

For the West Coast teams, this is not the last weekend of play yet. Fullerton finishes its schedule next weekend with Cal State Northridge.

Now, waiting to see if UNC makes it or is it going to be BC If the Jackets beat BC today and do well in our tournament, I think Tech will be a Top 8 seed in the NCAA. Winning the ACC tournament wouldn't hurt either

LSU limps into the SEC tourny by defeating MSU 3games to 1. I'll save FW the hurt. Tulane crushes LSU on Tuesday and then lays an egg today when everything was on the line. UCF wins 17-6 and the game is called for the mercy rule. FW for what it's worth, after seeing LSU tailspin after the Ole Miss series I feel your pain.
