The most frustrating thing about college baseball has to be players that go straight from high school to the minor leagues. I wish they'd at least have to play one year of college.

I definitely agree. Have a rule like football that prevents it from happening. UGA always has a top 5 recruiting class then half of them sign to go pro. It just throws all your hard work to get those kids out the window.

Interesting that Texas A&M's Blake Stouffer went in the fourth round last year, but is no where to be found on the mock draft. In fact, no Texas A&M player is on the list. I realize that Stouffer has had an average first half, but he got hot in the second half last year which boosted his numbers, and will likely happen again. Stouffer will be a top 4 pick.

They were talking today the Mizzou has 4 pitchers that could be a 1st round top 5 draft pick as their years come. So Aaaron Crow if he keeps it up im taking him to be a 1st round 3rd pick. That would mean he was a Kansas City Royal which would be cool. I have seen one mock draft that had him going #3 to the Royals.

We should have a couple. Douglas was taken last year but came back. Wish we had Jenkins back. Especially since the A's dropped him.

Gordon Beckham, that name rings a bell. Our senior pitcher Musgrave played in a league this summer, and when asked who the toughest player he faced all summer was he replied, "Gordon Beckham". The kid hit a line drive at his hip, at least he's not hurt . yeah gordo was playing in the cape cod league for the yarmouth-dennis red sox last summer. i know he was voted to the all-star team and he won some other award but i think of what it was right now. He led the league in home runs. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Don't sleep on the lower divisions this draft. I saw perhaps the best closer in DIII earlier this season when I saw Chris Deanes of Virginia Wesleyan shut down the meat of Salisbury college's batting order by striking out 5 of 6 batters in the 9th and 10th inning for the win. Since Deanes shut them down Salisbury has gone on a 35 game win streak!

I would love for Crow, or either of the SDSU pitchers to go to the Royals or the Marlins. Both have done pretty well lately with drafting young pitchers.

this may well be the best draft class in USM history
Barry Bowden, Tyler Conn, Trey Sutton, Brian Dozier and James Ewing all have a legit chance this year.
Bowden, Conn and Sutton are going to make some major league team very happy.

ESPN The Magazine's current issue has good coverage about this year's draft. It has articles about what teams look for in drafting players, a Navy pitcher considered a top college senior prospect who has a five-year commitment after graduating, and others. sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/package?id=3407077

Shooter Hunt 1st round, absolutely! I must be the only one who feels more comfy when Petition is pitching rather than Hunt.
