While sitting here at Beiden Field watching Fresno State continue their hot play of late crushing San Jose State, something miraculous...Something unbelievable...Something amazing happened tonight.
UK erased a 9-3 deficit to LSU in winning 11-9. It is about d**n time this team turned the tables on someone.

Ole Miss survives two errors and three unearned runs to beat Alabama 5-4.
S. Carolina beat Alabama, Tennessee beat Auburn, Florida beat Georgia with 2 unearned runs in the 9th, and Vandy leads Mississippi State 10-5 in the 9th, I think.

Vandy won 13-8.
Fresno State beat San Jose State 10-0 tonight to win our 6th WAC game in a row and move to 31-20 and 12-5 in the WAC. The magic number to clinch the conference regular season is now 5 with 7 games left. Like the last few years, Fresno State seems to be clicking and coming on strong at the right time of year.

Tech Takes Series Opener from Miami, 14-3
Tech (40-9, 18-7 ACC), ranked No. 6 in the nation, won its fifth straight game and reached 40 victories in a season for the 21st time in its history. More importantly, the Yellow Jackets moved into a tie for the ACC Coastal Division lead with the fifth-ranked Hurricanes (36-12, 18-7) and Virginia. Miami's seven-game winning streak came to an end.

LSU has really tanked since they rolled into Oxford ranked fifth i the country. Kentucky still has a shot at the NCAAs whether they make the SEC tournament or not. I'm reading that the SEC may get nine teams in.
How about Tennessee? Have they turned it around, or what? We played them here early in the conference season, and it was easy to see that they were a much better team than their record. I warned our fans that they were no pushover, having seen them on TV a few times.

Louisville went down to St. Johns 8-5. Thank God several other top teams lost at home also. Cardinals still remain in the top five of the RPI at No. 5 this morning. The Cardinals are 8-6 against RPI Top 50 teams and 7-3 in their last ten games. A home series loss to St. John’s this weekend could cloud up their national seed picture.

The Volunteers are 29-21 overall and improved their conference record to 12-13. The Vols climbed to 35 in the latest RPI.

That would put us at 14-16 in the SEC which even if not enough to make the SEC Tourney would probably be enough for an at large with all the victories UK has over top 50 RPI teams

Kentucky scores 9 runs between the 4th and 5th innings and get a second straight strong outing from freshman Jordan Cooper to beat LSU 9-4 today. UK goes for a needed sweep tomorrow afternoon. 28-23, 11-15 now.
This is the 2nd straight Saturday start for Cooper and his only 2 weekend starts all year. He has shut down 2 very good offenses in beating South Carolina 2-1 and LSU 9-4. Encouraging if the team can keep the momentum going to have a guy like Cooper out there.

Alabama's pitcher Nelson pitched a gem, and Ole Miss self destructed in the 8th, handing the Tide 3 runs as they lost 4-1. We're back to playing like we were a few weeks ago.
I will admit that the wind blowing in saved Nelson in the early innings. It is what it is, though.
